Nurse Practitioner

Ms. Folsom balances a dual career as a dedicated local clinician and a major academic figure in the North Country. She serves as the Co-Chair and Associate Professor in the Nursing Department at SUNY Plattsburgh, where she has taught since 2012. Beginning her practice as an LPN in 1996, she earned a Master’s degree in Nurse Education and Faculty Development from Drexel University (2011) and a Post Master's Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Advanced Certificate from Stony Brook University (2020). Outside of professional practice, she serves a national volunteer leader with Breakthrough T1D Advocacy for New England and Upstate New York assuring issues of folks living with Type 1 diabetes are addressed at the federal level.
