Self Pay Fee Schedule

For individuals who do not carry active health insurance or choose to pay entirely out-of-pocket, we utilize the following flat-rate fee schedules based on your provider type and appointment length.
Billing Questions

At North Country Behavioral Medicine, we believe financial transparency is a vital part of a professional healthcare partnership. Below you will find detailed information regarding our accepted insurance networks, standard self-pay schedules, and special clinical programs.

If you have specific billing questions, insurance coverage inquiries, or need assistance setting up a payment plan, please reach out directly to the administrative and billing staff at your local clinic branch:

  • Plattsburgh, NY Clinic: (518) 825-1555
  • Malone, NY Clinic: (518) 481-8744
  • Colchester, VT Clinic: (802) 404-1492

Sliding Scale Program

Our clinic remains deeply committed to providing exceptional mental health services to our community members regardless of their immediate ability to pay.

If you meet specific household size and income criteria, you may qualify for our tier-discounted rate program to see one of our psychiatric providers or counselors.

Completed applications, along with required proof of household income, must be returned to the office staff at your local branch for review and approval prior to your appointments.

CVPH Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

North Country Behavioral Medicine is proud to be an approved provider of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits for the University of Vermont Health Network - CVPH.

  • Who is covered: This benefit is fully available to active employees at CVPH and their immediate families, including spouses, partners, and children.
  • The Benefit: Each individual is allowed up to 6 EAP sessions per calendar year, completely covered by CVPH at no out-of-pocket cost to you.
  • How to activate: Please contact our staff at the Plattsburgh office (518) 825-1555 or reach out to the UVMHN-CVPH Occupational Health Department for details before booking your session.

Attendance & Missed Appointment Fees

To safeguard our clinicians' time and ensure waiting list patients can get appointments, we enforce a strict 12-month rolling attendance policy. To properly cancel an appointment and avoid penalties, you must contact your local branch at least 24 business hours in advance:

  • Commercial Insurance & Medicare Patients: If you fail to appear or do not cancel a standard follow-up visit at least 24 business hours in advance, you will be charged an out-of-pocket $75 no-show fee.
  • Medicaid & Managed Medicaid Patients: In compliance with state regulations, you will not be charged any out-of-pocket financial fees for a missed session. However, repeated late cancellations or no-shows will result in your scheduling access being restricted to "same-day booking only," or your clinical file will be closed entirely.
  • Initial Intakes (All Patients): If you no-show or cancel your very first initial clinical evaluation with less than 24 business hours' notice, your file with our clinic will be closed immediately. True medical emergencies will be noted and weighed heavily on a case-by-case basis by management.
